Choker necklace
1. Close-fitting and tight necklace, worn approximately at the level of the larynx.
2. A traditional (especially Bavarian and Austrian) necklace with several strands of silver or pearls (German Kropfkette); originally reflected the wealth of the wearer: the more strands and the more elaborate the clasp, the wealthier the wearer.
