Fer de Berlin

Iron jewellery; manufactured at the Royal Iron Foundry in Berlin from 1807 onwards. Emerged during the Napoleonic Wars of Liberation ("I gave gold for iron"). A type of historical costume jewellery. Iron jewellery went out of fashion from 1850 onwards.
