Parure
Set of jewellery with a representative character; usually consisting of a necklace, earrings, brooch and bracelet; parures and their smaller variant, the demi parure, were particularly popular in the 19th century, as they ensured that ladies from the aristocracy and bourgeoisie were appropriately attired for every occasion. Individual pieces of jewellery in a parure often had several functions.
