Sévigné brooch
Piece of jewellery that emerged during the Baroque period. Large, bow-shaped pieces, initially sewn onto the dresses of court ladies. These later evolved into bow-shaped brooches (often with pendants), which were placed in the centre of the neckline. They remained popular well into the 18th century.
