Brilliant cut

Round diamond cut with at least 57 facets, including the diamond table. Consists of 33 upper facets, 24 lower facets and a circular girdle. Aims to achieve the perfect proportions for the diamond, with the aim of creating total reflection of light and thus maximum brilliance. Gradually became established from 1919 onwards.
