Claddagh (ring)
A symbol consisting of two hands holding a heart, which is crowned by a crown. There is a heartfelt symbolism behind this design: the heart serves as a sign of love, the hands represent friendship and the crown symbolises loyalty. Typical of friendship jewellery or wedding rings. According to legend, the first Claddagh ring was made in the 17th century in the fishing village of Claddagh in Ireland, which is where it got its name.
