Doublet
A composite gemstone made up of two components. Usually, a thin layer of a genuine gemstone is bonded to a synthetic or less expensive material such as glass or rock crystal. The aim is to optimise the size, colour and quality of the product. Also possible: doublets made up of two genuine or two synthetic/imitation components.
