Description
Charming Art Deco necklace from Theodor Fahrner, made of gold-plated 925 sterling silver and marcasite (stamped, guaranteed and signed).
The beautiful necklace consists of small pointed oval links that merge into eight curved decorative elements in the centre, which resemble small shells with their fan-like shape. Small sparkling marcasites add subtle accents and lend the necklace additional sophistication. Each link in the chain is also decorated with the finest embossing typical of the period.
The piece is fastened with a classic spring ring clasp.
This distinctive historical necklace by Theodor Fahrner of Pforzheim was created around 1930.
Fahrner is considered one of the pioneers of modern jewellery design in Germany and was one of the first jewellery manufacturers to commission artists to design his precious pieces. These were mass-produced from affordable materials such as silver and represented a cheaper yet artistically appealing alternative to high-priced jewellery.
Please also note the matching bracelet under item number 202513041.
