Description
Finely guilloché Art Nouveau enamel brooch, crafted from silver (tested and guaranteed).
The large round brooch is made with guilloché translucent enamel in a delicate light blue. An iris is depicted on it in the finest enamel painting, which demonstrates great craftsmanship with its perfectly realistic painting. A sturdy brooch on the back ensures a secure hold on clothing.
In the technique of translucent enamel over a guilloché ground, a fine pattern is cut in relief into a silver or other metallic surface and then covered with translucent glass enamel. The light reflections create the impression of three-dimensionality, which produces particularly beautiful effects. Thanks to the masterful enamel work of Peter Carl Fabergé, jewelry with guilloché enamel decoration was very popular at the beginning of the 20th century and influenced many goldsmiths and designers throughout Europe.
The present Art Nouveau brooch was created around 1905 and captivates with the delicacy of both the guilloché and the masterful enamel painting of the iris, the execution of which is typical of Art Nouveau. Its outstanding quality, size and exquisite condition make it an exceptional piece of jewelry and a coveted collector's item.
Diameter of the brooch: 5.8 cm.
