Description
Rare Viennese bronze necklace, handcrafted from bronze and supplemented silver chain (stamped, tested and guaranteed).
This cheerful piece of jewelry has a decorative middle section in the typical Viennese style made of hand-painted bronze, whose five main links are decorated with grapevines and vine leaf motifs, heart shapes and a central motif, a blonde lady in a blue gown and lion's stole, framed by wine. Small pendants with animal figures of native or exotic animals as well as symbolic pendants hang from the main links: a whale, a gorilla, a guinea pig, a rhinoceros, a star, a panda, a frog, an eagle, a little star and a little heart, a horse, an owl, a monkey, a putto, an elephant, a tiger, a panther and a falcon.
Starting from the middle section, silver pea chains end in a lobster clasp. The end of the chain is also decorated with a red heart shape.
Viennese bronzes are small sculptures cast in bronze by Viennese manufacturers, which were widely used as decorative objects in the 19th and early 20th centuries. These amusing little figurines originated in the workshops of Franz Bergmann and Fritz Bermann and spread to many parts of the population as gifts or collectors' items.
This magnificent necklace was created around 1910 and is still a rare collector's item today!
