Description
A stylish vintage Kollmar & Jourdan design bangle in 925 sterling silver (hallmarked, guaranteed and signed).
The highly polished bangle features a convex, inwardly curved band, the outer surface of which is adorned with four links in a chain-link pattern. It fastens with a discreet ladder clasp that blends seamlessly into the cool and elegant design of the bangle.
This striking bangle was created around 1970 in Pforzheim and comes from the Kollmar & Jourdan company. The long-established firm was founded in 1885 by the merchant Emil Kollmar (1860–1939) and the guilloche artist Wilhelm Jourdan (1855–1925), and initially produced watch chains by hand. Gradually, the company became one of Germany’s largest jewellery firms and distributed its products worldwide. In the 1960s and 1970s, the company made a name for itself with the production of sleek, stylish silver pieces. The Art Nouveau factory building, which the company moved into in 1902, still stands today and has been preserved as a listed architectural gem of the city of Pforzheim under the name Kollmar & Jourdan Haus.
This timelessly elegant bangle impresses with its versatility and is a wonderful everyday favourite.
