Description
Large, unusual statement mask pendant with tiger's eye and malachite, crafted from 925 silver (stamped and guaranteed).
The striking vintage pendant from the sixties depicts a Mayan mask with the typical facial features and traditional decoration. The mask is made from a beautiful golden-brown iridescent tiger's eye. Its typical headdress consists of malachite inlays, as does the abstract collar. Two conical silver pendants serve as ear jewellery for the anthropomorphic motif. The lower end of the pendant is also adorned with three large pendants, the ends of which are decorated with tiger's eye spheres.
A large movable pendant loop allows the piece of jewellery to be worn on different chains. We would be happy to advise you on a matching chain from our range.
The large pendant was created in Mexico around 1965 and combines the contemporary taste of the Sixties with the traditional design language of Mayan culture and Mexico's pre-Columbian past. The combination of tradition and modernity is typical of many of these Mexican designs and makes this jewellery unique and special.
