The name:

In the 18th century, a scandal erupted at the French court involving a fabulously beautiful diamond necklace, a scheming countess, a cardinal in love and, of course, the beautiful and legendary Queen Marie Antoinette, who went down in history under her own name.

Die Halsbandaffaire or translated Necklace Affair

As typical historians with a penchant for sentimentality, we were quietly inspired by this famous story about a legendary piece of jewellery when choosing our name.

The assortment:

In addition to a large, personally curated selection of antique and vintage jewellery from throughout the 20th century, we also offer selected modern jewellery from current collections by small manufacturers and producers, as well as our own designs crafted in our studio.

Antique and vintage:

Our antique pieces and all vintage jewellery are professionally cleaned and examined, classified, evaluated and described based on material science and art history. We only offer originals – you will not find any reproductions or copies here. We do not conceal any defects or signs of wear on the pieces, nor do we embellish or edit our photos. In our descriptions, we endeavour to indicate the condition of the antique and worn items as accurately as possible.

Modern jewellery:

When putting together our modern jewellery selection, we are guided by stylish new trends in fashion and lifestyle, but we are also always inspired by the undeniable quality and refined elegance of timeless, classic design. All our jewellery is made from precious metals, genuine stones and pearls. You will not find any synthetic stones, artificial stones or imitations in our shop.

Precious metals:

Yellow, rose or white gold in the standard alloys from 8 (333) to 21 (900) carats.
Silver in 925, for antique objects also 800 or 835.

Pearls:

Genuine saltwater, South Sea or Tahitian and freshwater cultured pearls, often natural or Oriental pearls in antique pieces. The cultured pearls are always personally selected and hand-picked.

Colored gemstones:

All genuine colored stones such as aquamarine, topaz, citrine, ruby, sapphire, emerald, green, pink or purple amethyst, turquoise, agate, lapis lazuli, tourmaline, and many more, always in every conceivable color, variety, and shade. In addition, amber, coral, and lava.

Diamonds:

Our diamonds are certified and of good color and clarity. In modern jewellery, they are usually brilliant-cut diamonds (i.e. diamonds cut in the brilliant style) or octagonal diamonds (i.e. diamonds cut in the octagonal style).
In antique pieces, diamonds are typically old-european-cut or rose-cut, known as “old-european-cut diamonds” and “diamond roses.”
