Jewellery certificate:
With every piece of jewellery you purchase from us, you will receive a certificate containing key information about the metals and gemstones used, as well as the time and place of origin for antique pieces.
Grading
We examine diamonds and coloured stones with the utmost care – nevertheless, we must point out that the exact grading of set stones is technically impossible.
In detail, this may have an impact on the following information:
Size and weight of the stones (carats):
Set diamonds and gemstones cannot, of course, be weighed to determine their weight – they are therefore measured in their setting and their weight calculated on the basis of their specific weight and cut. The results obtained in this way must always be understood as approximate values.
The shape of the cut is also recognisable when the stone is set and is listed in the description. However, compliance with the optimal proportions for the respective shapes cannot be verified exactly in a set stone and is therefore not evaluated.
Colour:
Set diamonds strongly reflect the material and colour of their setting. Colour grading for set stones is therefore hardly possible, or only possible within very broad quality ranges.
Purity of the stone (clarity):
Set diamonds can no longer be viewed completely from all directions and angles. Therefore, the clarity of diamonds can only be assessed approximately and in broad quality ranges.
Coloured gemstones are carefully examined by us – as far as technically possible in their mounted state – using a polariscope, refractometer and microscope in order to assess their authenticity, quality and, where possible, their origin.
Schmuck-Zertifikat:
Sie erhalten bei uns zu jedem Schmuckstück einen Schmuckpass, der die wesentlichen Angaben zu den verwendeten Metallen und Edelsteinen sowie bei antiken Stücken auch Zeit und Ort der Entstehung beinhaltet.
Graduierung
Wir untersuchen die Diamanten und Farbsteine mit der grösstmöglichen Sorgfalt - gleichwohl müssen wir darauf hinweisen, dass die exakte Graduierung von gefassten Steinen technisch nicht möglich ist.
Im Einzelnen können sich dadurch Auswirkungen auf die folgenden Angaben ergeben:
Grösse und Gewicht der Steine (Carat):
Gefasste Diamanten und Edelsteine können natürlich nicht zur Ermittlung ihres Gewichtes gewogen werden – sie werden daher in der Fassung ausgemessen, ihr Gewicht anhand ihres spezifischen Gewichts und ihres Schliffs errechnet. Die hierbei ermittelten Ergebnisse müssen immer als ca-Angaben verstanden werden.
Schliffgüte und -form (Cut):
Die Form des Schliffes ist auch im gefassten Zustand erkennbar und wird in der Beschreibung aufgeführt. Die Einhaltung der zu den jeweiligen Formen gehörenden optimalen Proportionen sind bei einem gefassten Stein jedoch nicht exakt überprüfbar und werden daher nicht bewertet.
Farbe (Color):
Gefasste Diamanten reflektieren stark Material und Farbe ihrer Fassung. Die Farbgraduierung bei gefassten Steinen ist daher kaum oder nur in sehr breit gefassten Qualitätsbereichen möglich.
Reinheit des Steins (Clarity):
Gefasste Diamanten können nicht mehr komplett und aus allen Richtungen und Blickwinkeln betrachtet werden. Daher kann die Angabe zur Reinheit der Diamanten nur in etwa und in breit gefassten Qualitätsbereichen erfolgen.
Farbsteine werden von uns - soweit technisch im gefassten Zustand möglich - sorgfältig mit Polariskop, Refraktometer und Mikroskop untersucht um ihre Echtheit, Qualität und eventuell auch ihre Herkunft zu beurteilen.
