Fine historical Art Nouveau brooch with large diamond roses, crafted from 585 / 14ct gold and silver (tested and guaranteed).
The brooch is typical of the period and consists of delicate, softly curved bars that come together to form an organic, horizontal motif. The piece of jewellery is crafted from 585 gold and, as was customary at the time, has a silver overlay on the front. Four large rose-cut diamonds adorn the design and are complemented at the lower end by two further diamond roses - one of which is a free-swinging drop-shaped suspension. The diamonds have a total stone weight of ca. 1.5 carats.
The back of the piece of jewellery has a well-functioning pin with a C-hook.
This enchanting historical brooch was created around 1890 and comes from Ulm. It is an early representative of the Art Nouveau style that emerged around the turn of the century, which can be interpreted as a stylistic phenomenon and counter-movement to the prevailing historicism of the time. Artists and craftspeople now sought original models from nature and the contemporary world instead of orientating themselves on the formal language of the past and adopting it.
