English Belle Époque necklace with diamonds and seed pearls, crafted from platinum as well as white and yellow gold 585 / 14 Kt (tested and guaranteed).
A pendant typical of the period, consisting of floral foliage and softly swinging pendulums, sits on a fine anchor chain in white gold 585 / 14 Kt. Small leaves set with diamond roses alternate with shimmering white seed pearls and create a wonderful transition to six freely swinging pendants, the ends of which are set with larger old european cuts totalling approx. 1.17 carats (H-L, SI1-SI2). Together with the remaining diamonds, the piece of jewellery has a total stone weight of ca. 1.38 carats.
The pendant is made of 585/14-carat yellow gold with platinum plating - in keeping with the taste of the time and the fashion for so-called ‘white jewellery’ - and resembles a sparkling wreath that swings with the wearer's every movement thanks to its delicate workmanship.
The necklace is easy to put on and take off with the help of a simple spring ring.
This exquisite piece of jewellery was created in England around 1915 and is a festive and precious representative of the jewellery art of the Belle Époque, known in English-speaking countries as the Edwardian Era. It is not only its design language, but also the historical diamond cuts that make this necklace an authentic contemporary witness of the early 20th century and therefore a piece of wearable history.
