Description
Opulent vintage charivari with ten pendants, made entirely of silver (most of the pendants are stamped, all tested and guaranteed).
Ten decorative pendants or hunting trophies sit on a curb chain with fine hatching: Deer cricket, badger beard, deer cricket, double fox hook, decoratively set victory thaler to celebrate the German victory over France in 1871, predator's claw (presumably puma), cowman, predator's claw with fur (possibly bear), double deer toe and three-dimensional horse made of silver.
The jewellery chain is attached to the leather trousers via two large spring rings.
The traditional charivari originated in Bavaria around 1955 and is a classic men's accessory for traditional costume that originally served its wearer as a status symbol and talisman for a successful hunt. The charivari has its roots in the 19th century and is particularly widespread in Bavarian and Austrian Alpine regions.
Total length of the charivari: 30.5 cm.
Length of the pendant (incl. eyelet): ca. 4.1 - 8.2 cm.
Weight: 144.5 grams.
Condition: Very nice vintage condition, freshly cleaned, see photos.
You will receive the charivari lovingly packaged in one of our high-quality cases and with a certificate of authenticity.
