Historic brooch with agate cameo, diamond roses and seed pearls, crafted from 585/14 K yellow gold (tested and guaranteed).
The opulent brooch is set in the centre with a finely cut oval agate cameo, which depicts the profile of a Bacchante in antique style with the typical vine leaves and tendrils in her hair. The high-quality cameo is framed by a cord edging, which in turn is framed by a circle of nine sparkling diamond roses with a total of ca. 0.6 carats and seven seed pearls in alternating pattern.
In the mid-20th century, a modern brooch setting was sensitively added to the back, ensuring a secure hold on the lapel without detracting from the beauty of this historical piece.
The historical brooch in the archaeological style popular at the time was made around 1880 and is still in its contemporary case. It is an impressive example of the reception of antiquity during the historicism period.
