Description
Large historical pendant with portrait miniature, crafted from yellow gold 585 / 14 ct (tested and guaranteed).
The oval pendant is adorned with a finely crafted portrait of a young woman in three-quarter profile. She is wearing a white dress with a flower-decorated neckline, her hair is open and falls in soft curls over her shoulders. The blue of the flowers is repeated in her simple hairband.
The young lady's appearance suggests the influence of Empress Elisabeth of Austria, who strongly influenced contemporary taste and fashion in the mid-19th century.
The miniature sits in a florally engraved frame and is crowned by a movable eyelet with a heart motif. On the back is a finely shimmering mother-of-pearl inlay.
The late Biedermeier pendant was created around 1870 and comes from Austria. Worn on a long chain or velvet ribbon, it is an extraordinary companion that exudes the charm of times gone by. The pendant is sold without a chain, but we would be happy to advise you on a matching chain from our range.
Dimensions of the pendant (incl. eyelet): 6.2 x 4.3 cm.
