A sophisticated vintage leopard ring set with diamonds, emeralds and rubies, crafted from 750 / 18-carat yellow gold (hallmarked and guaranteed).
The head of this extraordinary piece of jewellery is crafted in the shape of a leopard’s head, with its body and tail forming the ring band. The head, back and paws of the big cat are adorned with a white gold inlay depicting a stylised fur pattern. Set within this are 43 sparkling brilliant-cut diamonds totalling ca. 0.4 carats. Twenty vivid green emeralds totalling ca. 0.4 carats represent the leopard’s characteristic spotted pattern, whilst two ruby cabochons totalling 0.06 carats form its eyes.
This exquisitely crafted ring was made around 1985 in Stuttgart and is thought to be inspired by Cartier’s famous Panther collection, which was first presented in 1948 and has enjoyed great success ever since.
