Description
Historic Art Deco ring from Vienna, with sapphires and old european cut diamonds, crafted from platinum (stamped and guaranteed).
The curved, shield-shaped ring is made entirely of platinum and set in the centre with a fine dark blue sapphire in a conical cabochon cut of ca. 1.5 carats. The sapphire is framed by twelve calibré-cut, small sapphires (totalling ca. 0.12 carats), between which sit a total of ten old european cut diamonds, with a combined stone weight of ca. 0.7 carats and a beautiful quality range (I-J, VS2-SI1).
This elegant ring is particularly captivating due to the stark contrast between the dark blue sapphires and the vividly sparkling diamonds. It was created in Vienna around 1915, in the early Art Deco period, and already displays the typical design features of the time. Its elegant design makes it timeless and simply beautiful to this day.
