A fine and rare Belle Époque necklace in its original case, crafted from diamonds, rubies, pearls and platinum (tested and guaranteed).
A delicate platinum chain with a polished anchor pattern holds a stunningly beautiful pendant consisting of a circular segment with an inner pearl and three slender pendants.
The classic circle element is completely set with 22 calibrated cut rubies totalling ca. 0.22 carats. The gemstones, sparkling in a beautiful red, enclose a natural pearl shimmering in a soft creamy white. Three narrow, movable pendants form the end of the pendant and are set with a total of 25 fine diamond roses totalling ca. 0.30 carats and three additional natural pearls with a creamy white lustre.
The elegant motif of the piece of jewellery with its clear lines is further emphasised by a square-set old-european-cut diamond of ca. 0.04 carats (H-I, VS2-SI1), which adds an interesting accent to the middle pendant.
This breathtaking pendant necklace was created around 1915 and is an authentic witness to the Belle Époque. Fairytale-like, delicate jewellery designs made of diamonds and white precious metals were prevalent around 1900 and were worn to theatre performances, revues and candlelit dinners.
While Belle Époque jewellery often features romantic, playful bow and flower motifs, this necklace has a clearer, more minimalist design, foreshadowing the Art Déco style that dominated from the 1920s onwards with its geometric designs.
