Description
A beautiful, wide, antique garnet bangle, crafted from gold-plated tombac (tested and guaranteed).
The dark red, sparkling bangle is set with five rows of garnet roses arranged in ascending size. It is crafted from tombac, as was typical of the period, and opens and closes easily thanks to a discreet clasp mechanism with a safety chain.
This historic bangle was made around 1860 in Bohemia, a region in what is now the Czech Republic, which has been famous for centuries for its beautiful pyrope – the intensely red variety of the garnet group.
The intense red of the gemstones complements traditional costume beautifully, but can also be combined very effectively with an evening gown.
Inner circumference of the bangle: ca. 18.0 cm.
Inner dimensions of the bangle: 5.7 x 5.1 cm.
