A particularly beautiful three-strand Sardinian coral necklace with an attractive decorative clasp in 585/14-carat gold (assayed and guaranteed).
This classic necklace consists of three strands of genuine, untreated Sardinian coral, knotted in a flowing pattern, in a delicate salmon-pink hue. Sardinia coral is found off the coast of Sardinia and is distinguished by its uniform, delicate red colouring. To this day, it remains one of the few types of coral that may be harvested on a controlled scale – under strict supervision and the oversight of nature conservation authorities.
These beautifully polished coral beads were crafted into a distinctive necklace as early as 1900 and fasten at the back with a delicate clasp set with a coral button.
This exquisite necklace was created around the turn of the 20th century and captivates with the impressive size of the central beads and the finely graduated scale. It has been re-strung on pearl silk in our workshop and still embodies a Mediterranean spirit today, evoking warm summer days in Italy!
