Description
Historic South German Biedermeier brooch with enamel and seed pearls, made of yellow gold 585 / 14 ct (tested and guaranteed).
The antique piece of jewellery consists of a transverse, richly decorated and openwork cartouche, from which a drop-shaped pendant dangles from two chains. The brooch is made from pretty volute ornaments and foliage and features a flower as its centrepiece, which is composed of a sparkling red glass stone and small seed pearls.
The blue and white enamelling applied to the opulent piece of jewellery is also particularly pretty. The lavishly decorated pendant is also adorned with a red glass stone and fine enamelling.
There is a simple pin with a C-hook on the back of the brooch.
Decorative ornamental elements such as volutes, pendulums and cords that surround cartouche-shaped designs are characteristic of Biedermeier jewellery. This brooch is therefore an authentic testimony to the fashion of the time and also reflects the romantic zeitgeist of the era with its playful, naturalistic motifs.
This piece of jewellery from southern Germany was created around 1860 and is a wonderfully nostalgic companion that can be worn beautifully with a classic style or elegant traditional costume.
