Each of these lovely earrings features an intertwined knot motif, engraved in places with subtle patterns and floral elements. This lends the design additional depth and creates a beautiful, three-dimensional look.
On the back, the earrings feature hooks with secure clasp closures.
Ribbons and knots were particularly popular motifs in 19th-century jewelry, as they are not only decorative but can also symbolize the bond between two people. Here, the decorative aspect of the knot takes center stage, making the earrings perfect for everyday wear or for pairing with traditional attire.
They were made around 1880 and originate from Linz.
