Description
Charming historicist cherub brooch by Theodor Schallmayer, crafted from silver (tested and signed).
This distinctive brooch depicts a cherub with curly hair adorned with flowers, whose stylised wings consist of rocailles and scrollwork. A turquoise cabochon on the cherub's chest and two small pearls add playful accents.
The brooch is designed in the Neo-Rococo style, which revived the opulent aesthetics of the Rococo period and was a popular design element in historicism.
The C-hook clasp on the back ensures that the piece of jewellery is easy and safe to wear.
This charming brooch was created around 1890 in Munich and comes from the house of the Royal Bavarian Court Supplier Theodor Schallmayer, who was particularly known for his Renaissance and Rococo style jewellery. The brooch is therefore not only an interesting collector's item, but can also be combined perfectly with traditional costumes and classic styles.
Dimensions of the brooch (including suspension): ca. 3.9 x 3.6 cm.
Dimensions of the turquoise cabochon: ca. 4.9 x 4.1 mm.
Diameter of the pearls: ca. 2.2 - 4.9 mm.
Weight: 13.5 grams.

You will receive the brooch lovingly packaged in one of our pretty cases and with a certificate of authenticity.
Please note: Vintage and antique jewellery are worn items that may show slight signs of wear due to their history.
