Description
A beautiful Austrian traditional dirndl necklace with garnets, crafted from 835 silver (hallmarked and guaranteed).
The decorative necklace is characterised by a large, richly ornamented central cartouche. This is artfully designed with floral and geometric motifs and features a deep red, sparkling garnet rose at its centre. Further garnet roses are symmetrically incorporated into the design and can also be found on a small, playful pendant hanging below the central cartouche. From the pretty centrepiece, four rows of pea chains on either side run in a garland-like pattern into two small side cartouches, also set with garnet roses. These are followed by three further strands of pea chains, which lead to a practical spring ring clasp with an extension chain.
This lovely traditional costume necklace was made in Linz around 1960 and is particularly striking thanks to the imaginatively designed cartouches and the elegant contrast between the bright red garnet roses and the subtly blackened silver. It pairs beautifully with traditional costumes and dirndls!
