Description
Wonderful historic Biedermeier necklace, crafted from gold-plated silver (tested and guaranteed).
The necklace consists of a total of twelve decorative links, formed into ribbon, grape and fancy shapes. At the centre is a cartouche-shaped ornament featuring three curved pendants. The centre of this cartouche is adorned with two vine leaves set against a background of black enamel.
The necklace fastens at the back with a simple clasp, which blends harmoniously into the design.
This opulent necklace was created during the Biedermeier period around 1860, a movement with a romantic character that was reflected in jewellery through the influence of nature: flowers and foliage were recreated in precious metal, whilst decorative elements such as volutes, pendants and cords frame cartouche-shaped designs.
Today, this historic necklace, which is particularly striking due to its excellent condition, can be beautifully paired with classic styles or traditional costume.
Length of the necklace: 42.5 cm.
Width of the chain links: 0.9 cm.
Dimensions of the cartouche (incl. pendants): 5.9 x 4.1 cm.
