Description
Elegant Art Nouveau ring with diamonds, crafted from rose gold 585 / 14ct and platinum (tested, stamped and guaranteed).
The elegant ring head in a toi-et-moi design is set with a platinum overlay and two larger old-cut diamonds. A further fifteen old-cut diamonds sit on the bars of the ring head, which looks like a curved band. The sparkling diamonds have a total stone weight of ca. 0.8 carats and are in the beautiful quality range (H-I, VS1-VS2). A stable ring shank made of red gold perfectly rounds off the Art Nouveau ring design, which is typical of the time.
The so-called Toi-et-Moi ring became famous and popular when Napoleon Bonaparte proposed to Josephine de Beauharnais with such a ring in 1796. The design experienced a revival in the first half of the 20th century and is still popular today as an engagement ring, as it symbolises the future couple and their marriage vows (‘You and I’).
The ring was created around 1910 and comes from Munich. It still captivates today with the elegance of its design and the fine sparkle of the old-cut diamonds.
