Description
Beautiful historical brooch with sapphire and diamonds, crafted from yellow gold 585 / 14 ct and platinum (stamped, tested and guaranteed).
The elongated yellow gold brooch has a platinum overlay typical of the period and is set with a row of sparkling diamond roses totalling ca. 0.3 carats. The design forks at the sides and is reminiscent of two diamond-set bands laid on top of each other, which unite with the crowning glory of the brooch - a round sapphire cabochon of ca. 1.7 carats. The dark blue sapphire sits in a restrained bezel setting and impresses with its cone-shaped top (so-called sugarloaf cut).
The pin on the back has a small hinged clasp that guarantees a secure hold on clothing.
This highly elegant brooch was made around 1910 and comes from Lausanne. It is preserved with its original case from the Orfèvrerie Moecklin there.
