Description
A lovely vintage Polybern amber bracelet from Fischland, crafted from 835 silver (hallmarked, signed and guaranteed).
The bracelet consists of five rectangular links set with decorative Polybern cabochons (Polybern is an artificial amber made from polyester resin and fragments of natural amber). Between the set links are pretty, openwork silver links, each decorated with three stylised fish.
The bracelet fastens easily with a hook clasp. An additional safety chain ensures it stays securely in place.
The bracelet was made around 1950 and bears the maker’s mark of Fischland. The company’s founder, Walter Kramer, began designing silver jewellery in 1935, which soon made him well-known amongst all tourists visiting the Baltic Sea. He named his concept of combining the ‘gold of the Baltic Sea’ with silver maritime motifs ‘Fischland jewellery’.
Our lovely bracelet combines the tradition of Fischland jewellery with the typical look of the 1950s and 60s. The embossed fish motifs in particular make it a sought-after collector’s item.
Dimensions of the bracelet: ca. 19.0 x 2.8 cm.
Dimensions of the Polybern amber stones: ca. 2.6 x 1.9 cm.
Weight: 46.2 grams.
Condition: Very good condition, freshly cleaned and polished, see photos.
You will receive the bracelet lovingly packaged in one of our high-quality cases and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
