Description
A large, rare Art Nouveau medallion with a chain, both made of 800 and 925 silver (hallmarked, assayed and guaranteed).
This beautiful keepsake piece is adorned on the front with a wavy frame and a blue enamelled band featuring five trefoil motifs. These are complemented by a large, curved monogram engraving with the ligated letters ‘AS’.
Inside the medallion are two frames, providing space for photographs, miniatures or other small mementoes.
The pendant is attached to a modern 925 sterling silver (hallmarked and guaranteed) pea chain via a large grooved eyelet. The chain fastens at the back with a lobster clasp.
This striking and particularly beautiful medallion was made around 1905 and originates from Austria. It embodies the typical design language of that era.
