Description
A beautiful Munich-style charivari with nine pendants, crafted entirely from 800 silver (hallmarked, assayed and guaranteed).
Nine silver pendants adorn this substantial charivari, suspended from a solid, flat-link silver chain: a young chamois, a pair of nutria teeth, prettily flanked by oak leaves and a small silver squirrel, a three-dimensional silver fox, a tiger’s eye in a finely decorated setting, a five-mark silver coin from 1876 bearing the portrait of Ludwig II, a rock crystal, a Bavarian lion, a bird of prey’s claw, the silver setting of which depicts the head of an eagle, and a beautiful large citrine quartz crystal.
The piece of jewellery is fastened to the lederhosen via two large spring rings.
This impressive charivari was made around 1950 and originates from Munich. It is an authentic, traditional addition to the traditional costume and a must-have for the Oktoberfest.
Total length of the charivari: ca. 27.5 cm.
Length of the pendants (including eyelet): ca. 5.8 – 1.5 cm.
Weight: 167.5 grams.
Condition: Very good condition, freshly cleaned; one nutria tooth is slightly damaged – see photos.
You will receive the Charivari lovingly packaged in one of our attractive cases, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Please note: Vintage and antique jewellery items are pre-owned and may show slight signs of wear due to their history.
