Rare historic ring with emerald, ruby, sapphire and diamonds, crafted from 750 / 18k yellow gold and silver (tested and guaranteed).
The transverse ring head of the beautiful ring is set with three precious coloured stones: a blue Ceylon sapphire of ca. 0.18 carat, a bright red ruby of ca. 0.22 carat and a probably Colombian emerald of ca. 0.15 carat. The beautiful, oval-faceted gemstones are set in gold settings that are open at the bottom (so-called À-Jour setting), allowing enough light to reach the stones and highlighting their intense colour.
This type of setting only emerged in the second half of the 18th century and opened up completely new possibilities for goldsmiths and jewellery lovers.
The three coloured stones are framed by a curved band of 26 small diamond roses weighing ca. 0.4 carats in total, which are set in a silver overlay. The diamonds are contrasted by the yellow gold ring band.
The intricately crafted ring was created in southern Germany around 1820 and is a rare collector's item that captivates with its fine coloured gemstones.
