Stunning Art Déco-era double clip brooch with sensational diamond setting, crafted in platinum (verified and guaranteed).
The brooch, which is mounted horizontally, has a symmetrical design that appears both organic and strictly geometric: curved volutes and navettes are contrasted with graphic squares and rectangles and come together with delicate openwork to form a piece of jewellery with an architectural feel.
A total of 118 diamonds in octagonal, old, transition, navette, baguette and carré cuts adorn this antique piece of jewellery and come to a total stone weight of ca. 5.4 carats. The diamonds are all of very beautiful quality: they are of fine white (G) and excellent purity (VVS2-VS1).
What makes this brooch special, however, is not only its dreamlike setting, but also its versatility: the piece of jewellery can be divided in two by means of a sophisticated mechanism on the back and can then be worn as a double clip on clothing, a so-called ‘duet’. This results in a variety of wearing options that also corresponded to the modern concept of contemporary women's fashion in Art Deco: clips of this kind adorned the necklines of evening dresses, but were also found on jacket and fur collars or on the very popular hats and headdresses of the time.
This luxurious brooch was created around 1930 and is a wonderful example of the glamorous design language and outstanding craftsmanship of Art Déco. Today it is a festive jewel that can be worn on very special occasions and is particularly suitable for those who want to carry the jewellery art of Art Déco into the modern age.
