A pretty vintage brooch featuring delicate opals and diamond roses, crafted from 585 / 14-carat yellow gold (assayed and guaranteed).
This charming gold brooch is set in the centre with four prong-set opal cabochons, each featuring a diamond rose at its centre, creating a decorative floral motif. On either side, two further diamond roses each complement the harmonious overall appearance of the piece. The Australian opals, with their delicate sheen and beautiful red reflections, have a total weight of ca. 1.0 carat, whilst the diamond roses have a total stone weight of ca. 0.03 carat.
Thanks to the pin on the reverse with a safety mechanism, the brooch can be securely fastened to clothing.
This elegant brooch was created around 1900 in southern Germany and bears witness to the contemporary fondness for opals and the fine jewellery craftsmanship of the time.
