Description
Rare historical micromosaic earrings, crafted from 333/8-karat gold and gold-plated tombac (hallmarked, tested, and guaranteed).
Two round settings, each adorned with delicate micro-mosaics, hang from hand-forged gold hook clasps. The upper, slightly smaller pendant features a white flower against a blue background, framed by a decorative blue-and-white pattern. In the larger setting below, the same flower sits at the center, but here it is surrounded by four circles adorned with the finest leaf motifs and further framed by a delicate golden cord. The beautiful micro-mosaic is rendered in tasteful shades of blue, white, and green and harmonizes wonderfully with the warm golden hue of the earrings’ settings.
The mosaics are set in gold-plated tombac settings, while the ear hooks are crafted from 333 gold.
These lovely antique earrings were made around 1890 in Italy, a country renowned in the 19th century for its artfully crafted micro-mosaics. They pair beautifully with other pieces and also look great with traditional costumes and dirndls.
