Description
A delicate antique ring featuring a Ceylon sapphire and diamonds, crafted from 585 / 14-carat yellow gold and platinum (hallmarked and guaranteed).
The navette-shaped ring head consists of a platinum setting, adorned with the finest openwork detailing and millegrès. At the centre sits an oval-faceted Ceylon sapphire of ca. 0.5 ct, with the typical, beautiful cornflower-blue colour. Eight diamond roses totalling ca. 0.14 carats are symmetrically distributed across the ring head and shoulders, providing additional sparkling accents.
With its materials and design language, this festive and elegant ring is crafted entirely in the style of the Belle Époque. However, it captivates above all with its beautiful sapphire. Sapphires from Ceylon, now known as Sri Lanka, are among the most valuable and sought-after gemstones. The combination of the specific host rock and colour-giving substances such as iron and titanium creates the exceptionally intense blue colour.
This beautiful piece of jewellery was created around 1910 in southern Germany. It is not only suitable for festive occasions but also makes a very special engagement ring.
