Description
Beautiful classic charivari with nine pendants, crafted from 925 sterling silver (tested and guaranteed).
Nine pendants are attached to a sturdy round curb chain: a pair of grandels, a deer toe, two muskrat teeth, a bird of prey claw, a stag beetle antler, a lynx ear, a chamois cricket point, a cowbird and an amethyst.
The pendants, beautifully decorated with silver oak leaves, are sometimes regarded as lucky charms or as protection against misfortune. The amethyst, for example, is said to protect against drunkenness, snakes and worms, while the caretaker is said to bring hunting luck to its wearer.
This richly decorated charivari originated in Bavaria around 1950 and is a traditional and authentic accessory for lederhosen.
Total length of the charivari: 34.0 cm.
Length of the pendant (incl. eyelet): ca. 3.1 - 7.4 cm.
