Diameter of the micro mosaics: ca. 0.6 and 1.3 cm.
Description
Historic earrings with micro mosaics, crafted from 333/8 carat gold and gold-plated tombac (stamped, tested and guaranteed).
Two round settings adorned with delicate micro mosaics hang from finely crafted hook clasps. The upper, slightly smaller pendant shows a white flower against a blue background, framed by a decorative blue and white pattern. Below this is a larger setting, in the centre of which the same flower appears, this time as the focal point of a richer, artistically designed floral composition, which is further accentuated by a fine golden cord.
The blue, white and green tones of the mosaics harmonise beautifully not only with each other, but also with the warm, gold-plated setting of the earrings.
The mosaics are set in gold-plated tombac, while the ear hooks were made later from 333 gold.
These pretty historical earrings were made around 1920 in Italy (one earring stamped ‘Made in Italy’), a country famous since the 19th century for its artistically crafted micro mosaics.
