Description
A magnificent historic Biedermeier brooch in 585 / 14 carat yellow gold (assayed and guaranteed) with a small seed pearl.
The round brooch is decorated with a raised star motif, within which lies a stylised bouquet of golden foliage and cord-like wire. A seed pearl set in a flower-shaped frame accentuates the centre of this antique brooch.
The beautiful design is particularly striking thanks to its three-dimensional structure and the interplay of different surface textures: the gold is finished with a combination of a glossy polish, a fine satin finish and a decorative grained texture.
Thanks to a C-hook fastening on the reverse, the piece can be securely fastened.
This elegant brooch was created during the Biedermeier period around 1860 and originates from southern Germany. In the mid-19th century, brooches of this type were traditionally worn at the centre of a dress neckline. Today, however, it lends itself well to a modern interpretation and looks particularly good on the lapel of a blazer, with a knitted jumper or on a handbag.
Diameter of the brooch: 3.6 cm.
Diameter of the seed pearl: 3.6 mm.
Weight: 9.4 grams.
Condition: Very good condition, freshly cleaned, see photos.
You will receive the brooch lovingly packaged in one of our pretty cases, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Please note: Vintage and antique jewellery items are pre-owned and may show slight signs of wear due to their history.
