Large charivari with 12 pendants, crafted from silver (tested and guaranteed).
Twelve decorative pendants hang from a solid chain in a round armour pattern. A bird's claw decorated with oak leaves, a rock crystal and a 3-mark commemorative coin. This was minted on the occasion of the centenary of the wars of liberation against France and depicts Frederick William III's call to his people to rise up against French rule.
Other pendants include: a beautifully decorated silver beer mug, a Maria Theresa thaler, a large deer buckle, a Morgan dollar with the profile of Liberty and the bald eagle on the reverse, a silver crown, a silver coin from 1913 with the head of Ludwig III, a beaver tooth framed with oak leaves, a small coin with the German imperial eagle and the inscription ‘Vergiss mein nicht’ (Forget me not) on the reverse, and a historic silver riding boot.
The charivari can be securely attached to lederhosen using two large spring rings.
The traditional charivari originated around 1950 and comes from Munich. It is a classic men's accessory for traditional costume and originally served as a status symbol and talisman for a successful hunt.
