Description
Rare, chic Art Deco necklace with green Bakelite and sparkling rhinestones, crafted from 835 silver (stamped and guaranteed).
This fine piece of jewellery is set with a total of 144 round faceted, transparent, sparkling rhinestones. A pretty chain of rhinestone-studded bar links leads to a prominent centrepiece: this is set with three florally carved, green bakelite discs that are reminiscent of jade or nephrite. The first fully synthetic plastic was developed under the name Bakelite, which was particularly popular in the Art Deco and Bauhaus eras.
The necklace can be easily put on and taken off with a spring ring clasp.
This elegant piece of jewellery was created around 1925 and is typical of the Art Deco period thanks to its straightforward yet glamorous design.
