Description
A rare and finely crafted Biedermeier accordion bracelet featuring seed pearls and amethyst, made from 333 rose gold (hallmarked and guaranteed).
The intricately decorated bracelet captivates the eye on its front with an artfully crafted floral motif: Eight delicate seed pearls form the petals, whilst a luminous, round-faceted amethyst forms the centre of the composition. The amethyst weighs ca. 6.0 carats and boasts a vibrant, not overly dark violet hue. The design is complemented by delicate rose gold leaf elements, harmoniously inserted between the seed pearls. The warm gold alloy impressively highlights the intense violet of the amethyst, whilst the delicate seed pearls lend the piece an elegant playfulness.
Particularly noteworthy is the ingenious bracelet clasp, which operates on the principle of an accordion. By simply pulling it apart, the bracelet can be effortlessly slipped over the wrist. The individual links are also adorned with decorative ornamental elements, which further emphasise the piece’s artistic character.
This charming piece of jewellery from the late Biedermeier period was created around 1880 in southern Germany. It represents an outstanding example of 19th-century jewellery art and continues to delight today with its timeless elegance and versatility.
