Description
Antique brooch featuring an imperial topaz and diamonds, crafted from 585/14-carat yellow gold and platinum (hallmarked and guaranteed).
The elegant stick brooch is delicately decorated with millegrès and leaf-shaped elements that converge towards a widening centre, which is set with a beautiful, sparkling imperial topaz in a warm, delicate orange colour. The round-faceted gemstone weighs ca. 4.2 carats and is one of the most expensive and rarest varieties of topaz, usually originating from Brazil. In addition, small diamond roses are also incorporated into the brooch, which together have a total carat weight of ca. 0.1 carats and provide an extra sparkle.
A pin on the reverse with a safety clasp ensures a secure hold.
This beautiful, glamorous piece of jewellery was created around 1915 in southern Germany and reflects the spirit of the early years of the last century, when festive and opulent designs featuring gemstone settings in timeless forms were particularly popular.
