Description
Wonderful hair comb of the Biedermeier era, made of tombac. The ornamental part of the comb is crown-shaped and consists of turquoise cabochons and seed pearls arranged to form flowers. The gemstones sit in fine frame settings. The fine crown of the comb is open worked and connected via a movable hinge to the long comb teeth so that it can be adjusted worn in the hairstyle. The comb teeth are made of dark brown horn (tortoiseshell).
The beautiful and rare comb was made around 1850 and is an enchanting addition to special occasions.
