Wonderful vintage ring in yellow gold 585 / 14 ct. (stamped and guaranteed) with historical intaglio of the goddess "Athena". The solid ring rail bears an oval carnelian with the intaglio of the Greek goddess Athena, depicted in the style of antiquity around 1820. The Olympic deity is shown as goddess of combat and strategist and is helmeted accordingly.
The ring version is dated around 1960, although the carnelian, especially the stylistic features of its intaglio, suggest that it was made around 1820. A great piece to combine, which inspires both jewelry lovers and collectors!
