Description
Stunning large vintage brooch with rich diamond setting, made of white gold 750 / 18 ct (tested and guaranteed, stamped with French Gold hallmarks).
This piece of jewellery is very elegant and has the shape of a star. Its stepped design makes it look wonderfully plastic. Each step is fully paved with rose-cut diamonds, the tip of the brooch is adorned with a larger old-cut diamond of approx. 0.7 carats, which can unfold its full brilliance through a raised claw setting and is framed by a wreath of 14 octagonal-cut diamonds.
The 197 diamonds have an impressive stone weight of approx. 3.6 carats and are in the upper to medium quality range (h-i, VVS2-SI1).
On the back side there is a very well working pin with a safety slide.
The glamorous star brooch was created around 1950 in France. It was designed in a time of economic upswing, when the new self-confident attitude to life of the post-war period was being taken over, when fashion and jewellery were allowed to become more opulent again and when people enjoyed decorating themselves with elaborate but classically inspired jewellery.
Diameter of the brooch: 4.9 cm.
Diameter of the diamonds: approx. 1.1 - 5.8 mm.
Total weight of the diamonds: approx. 3.6 ct (h-i, VVS2-SI1).
Weight: 21.4 grams.
Condition: Very nice vintage condition, old cut diamond with natural, freshly cleaned, see photos.
You will receive the brooch lovingly packed in one of our high-quality cases and with a certificate of authenticity.
Please note: Vintage or antique jewellery is a worn object which may show slight signs of wear due to its history.
