Description
Outstanding historical jewellery set, consisting of brooch and earrings from the late Biedermeier period, exceptionally decorative and high quality work in 750 / 18 ct yellow gold (stamped and guaranteed). The fancy earrings have a movable and softly curved hook-shaped bristles and are decorated with fine pearl stick decoration and curved cord wire. A stylized belt buckle motif creates a sophisticated transition between hairstyle and hanging. In the centre of each earring is a rose-cut diamond set with floral motifs and underlaid with a simple accent of black enamel. The lower end of the earrings is formed by a series of filigree, movably attached bar wires, which fit perfectly into the design due to their cord look.
The round brooch is stylistically modelled on the earrings and is complemented by a belt buckle on each side and a three-pass motif. A beautiful diamond rose also sits in the middle of the brooch, which provides additional elegance. All three diamonds have a stone weight of approx. 0.37 carat. On the back, the piece of jewellery has a simple brooch with a C-hook as well as an open eyelet at the lower edge, to which another pendant could be attached.
This gorgeous Biedermeier set was created around 1850 in Austria and is a fine ensemble of this period in wonderful condition. It is an authentic witness of that epoch and a wonderful piece of contemporary and jewellery history.
